#2022ReadingGoalsandChallenges

Hey everyone! I know it’s been a wicked long time since I’ve posted and I’m sorry. I haven’t figured out the full-time job/blogging balance yet. I thought I would jump on real quick and post my reading goals and challenges for 2022!

Reading Goals:
I exclusively use StoryGraph now, and you can add me as a friend! I’m going to set my goal at one book. This year I tried it and it worked really well. I really enjoyed not feeling the pressure to read “X” amount of books.

Blogging Goals:
I want to be more consistent with blogging in 2022. I’m hoping to find a balance between working full-time and blogging. I think I need to set some time at least once a week to draft and schedule posts, but not have a blogging schedule.

Challenges:
Diversify Your Reading Challenge
12 Books in 12 Months Recommended by 12 friends- I saw it on Bookstagram and thought it looked fun.
A to Z Challenge from Little Inklings Design
Reading Rainbow Challenge from Little Inklings Design
The StoryGraph January Pages Challenge 2022- read at least one page per day, or listen to one percent of an audiobook and track it.
2022 Genre Bingo on StoryGraph and Tumblr

Please, bear with me. My end-of-year posts will be coming, I have some major updating to do with the stats that I keep for myself. I always love looking back and reflecting.

Happy new year!!

#2021ReadingGoals

2020 has been a rough year for all of us, with the pandemic and fighting for social justice I had trouble focusing on reading.  I also took a much needed step back from blogging.  A few months ago I significantly lowered my Goodreads reading goal from 115 books to 50 books, which you can read about here.

These past few days, I started thinking about my goals and the reading challenges that I will be doing in 2021.  Without further ado, below you will find my reading goals and the challenges that I will be doing.

Reading goals:
Goodreads Challenge: 1 book.  Yes, you read that right.  I know for a fact that I will read at least 1 book in 2021.  I have seen a few Booktubers do this in the past, and think that it’s a great idea.  Honestly, setting my goal to just 1 book takes the pressure and stress off of reading x amount of books and feeling like I have to read that number.  Something that I hate doing is lowering my reading goal which I had to do this year.

Read more backlist books
Read more books about social justice written by Black authors to educate myself even more

Challenges:
Modern Mrs. Darcy– This year’s challenge is so unique and different, you can choose your own reading adventure!
Library Love– Dewey Decimal: Read 12 books

Blogging goals:
Post weekly reading updates
Post weekly reviews
Try to post more discussion posts

Stay tuned for my November/December wrap-up and my 2020 Reading Year Review!

#2018GoalsandChallenges

New Year New Goals

Today’s post is going to be about my reading, Bookstagrm, and blogging goals and the challenges that I will be participating in this year.

First off is my reading goals:
Last year I set my goal at 75 books, and I surpassed it by reading 113. This year I set my goal at 115. I never increase my goal if I’m going to surpass it because I like to see how many books I actually read over my goal and then use the final count to help create my goal for the new year.

Continue to read more diversely
Hopefully, finish The Iliad and the Odyssey
Read more classics
Complete two series that I’ve started but have yet to finish
Work on reading more backlist books

Blogging goals:
Find a consistent schedule again
Try to find and post more original content

Bookstagram goals:
Try to post more consistently
Post more of my currently reading
Post more library hauls

#WinterTBR

challenge

My favorite Goodreads group is The Stress-Free Reading Challenges group.  Megan from Bookslayer Reads is one of the moderators, and she’s an amazing blogger too!  Every season there is a reading challenge.  You create a shelf and add books to it for the challenge.  I set my winter goal at 40 books.  I have already read 13 out of 40 books for the challenge, I might decide to increase this goal because of the pace I am currently reading at.  Below you will find the remainder of books that I plan on reading the rest of the winter.
