Today’s Top 5 Wednesday topic is from April 29, 2015, and it was favorite series endings. I felt like this topic was appropriate for today seeing as how tomorrow is the end of May. This list is in no specific order!

This week’s topic is a freebie. So for this week, I’m going to do a mixed list of series that I won’t be starting or finishing.

The Illuminae Files by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman– I highly disliked the content of Illuminae, I thought it was really boring.
The Magicians by Lev Grossman– I didn’t enjoy the first book enough to finish this series.
Nevernight by
Jay KristoffWhen people first got their hands on this series, it was called out for being problematic, and then when people addressed Kristoff about it, the way he reacted and handled the situation was not very good.
Series that were written by Rick Riordan that come after Percy Jackson and the Olympians, and Heroes of Olympus.
ACOTAR
by Sarah J. Maas– I lost interest in this series after I read the first chapter or two of the first book, they didn’t hold my interest enough to even fully read the entire book. I read the Nook sample.
The Thousandth Floor series by Katherine McGee- I read the nook sample of this and could barely get through it due to the narrative format.

There are other series that I will not be reading at all either, I could have included those but I wanted to keep my list to five books.

This week’s topic is favorite Urban Fantasy books:

Goodreads defines urban fantasy as: “Urban fantasy is a subset of contemporary fantasy, consisting of magical novels and stories set in contemporary, real-world, urban settings.”

A Million Junes by Emily Henry
A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness
Mary Poppins by P.L. Travers
A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle
A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens

By that definition, the above books qualify as urban fantasy.
