Last year (2018) I wrote a post about audiobooks, and today I am going to follow up on that post, which you can read here.
My relationship with audiobooks as stated in the post from last year is still a very complicated one. I don’t listen to them often and if I do listen to them, I tend to read ones that are on the shorter side. I’ve only listened to three complete audiobooks, which paints a picture of how complicated my relationship with audiobooks really is. The three complete audiobooks that I’ve listened to are Mr. Popper’s Penguins by Richard and Florence Atwater, Auggie and Me by R.J. Palacio, and Wishtree Katherine Applegate. I really enjoyed these three audiobooks. The most recent audiobook that I listened to was The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman, and it was not a great experience at all, you can read my review for it tomorrow. I think my issue with audiobooks is that I’m a more visual learner than I am an audio learner. I like physically seeing and reading the words a lot better than listening to them, I also retain and remember the information when I actually read it rather than listen to it. Going forward, I’m not sure if I’m going to give audiobooks more chances.

I feel the same way about audiobooks. Like, I’ll zone out if I have them on, so then I completely miss half the story
I’m glad I’m not the only one that has a complicated relationship with them.
I used to not be a fan of audiobooks at all. Last year I started listening to them more and more and now I love them.
That’s great that they work for you.
Yeah I know they aren’t for everybody heck they used to not be for me. I usually listen to audiobooks while I am painting my nails or when I am working on my journal.
Three audiobooks is great! At least you gave them a try
That’s true, at least I did try them.
