Top 5 Wednesday was originally created by Lainey from Gingerreadslainey and is now hosted by Sam from Thoughts on Tomes. There is a Goodreads group which lists the topics. I will only be participating in this meme at least once a month, maybe more if it’s a topic that I’m really excited about.
This week’s topic is a freebie. So for this week, I’m going to do a mixed list of series that I won’t be starting or finishing.
The Illuminae Files by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman– I highly disliked the content of Illuminae, I thought it was really boring.
The Magicians by Lev Grossman– I didn’t enjoy the first book enough to finish this series.
Nevernight byJay Kristoff– When people first got their hands on this series, it was called out for being problematic, and then when people addressed Kristoff about it, the way he reacted and handled the situation was not very good.
Series that were written by Rick Riordan that come after Percy Jackson and the Olympians, and Heroes of Olympus.
ACOTARby Sarah J. Maas– I lost interest in this series after I read the first chapter or two of the first book, they didn’t hold my interest enough to even fully read the entire book. I read the Nook sample.
The Thousandth Floor series by Katherine McGee- I read the nook sample of this and could barely get through it due to the narrative format.
There are other series that I will not be reading at all either, I could have included those but I wanted to keep my list to five books.
I have Nevernight on my shelf but am conflicted about starting it. Same with ACOTAR, lol.
I would read more reviews of both.
Yeah, I think I will before I decide. 🙂
