For today’s challenge, I decided to write a review for the book Wonder by R.J. Palacio.
TW for bullying
While August’s story is told from perspectives other than his they are clearly defined and work really well for this book. Wonder is a beautifully written heartwarming/heartbreaking story about a boy named August who starts fifth grade at a private school after being home schooled the majority of his life. August is bullied, has a somewhat hard time fitting in at first, makes friends, and shows people that it isn’t about what’s on the outside, it’s about what’s on the inside that counts. Your looks don’t define you. I highly recommend this book if you want a story about family, friendship, and kindness.
This sounds like a really great book. I’m going to have to read it.
It really is!!
This book made me cry so much. It really is heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time.
It really is.
This book has been on my radar for quite some time now; but I haven’t gotten round to actually adding it to my collection yet – never mind actually reading it, haha.
It definitely sounds like a must-read, though!
If you want to read it, I highly suggest borrowing it from the library! It really is an amazing book too.
I’ve already put it on my list! 🙂
