Seeing as how there has been a lot of discussion in the book community lately about reading diversely and diversity in literature I thought it would be a good idea for me to put together a list of diverse books that I have read. This list is a combination of fiction and non-fiction. This post is not meant to be a recommendations post.
Red and Me by Bill Russell
Second Wind by Bill Russell
Big Papi: My Story of Big Dreams and Big Hits by David Ortiz
Pedro by Pedro Martinez
My Brother, My Sister, and I by Yoko Kawashima Watkins
So Far from the Bamboo Grove by Yoko Kawashima Watkins
I Am Malala by Malala Yousafzai
The Color of Water by James McBride
Finding Fish by Antwone Fisher
Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon
Beloved by Toni Morrison
God Help the Child by Toni Morrison
Chasing the North Star by Robert Morgan
Ink and Bone by Rachel Caine
Paper and Fire by Rachel Caine
The Pearl That Broke Its Shell by Nadia Hashimi
There Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neal Hurston
While I know this list isn’t too impressive, I am making more of an effort to read more diverse and own voices books.

I LOVE this list Ashley! & I think it’s wonderful that you read diverse/own voices reads, adding to my TBR 😉
Thank you! I know it isn’t a lot right now, but one of my goals for 2017 is to read more diversely, but also still read what I want to read.
I honestly think that your headed in the right direction and efforts are appreciated 😉
