Today’s discussion is all about re-reading books and why I think it is important to re-read books. Personally, I love to re-read books and I can manage to find a balance between re-reading older books and reading more recent titles. There are a lot of positive things about reading books again. When you read a book for the first time, you have certain thoughts and feelings or your thoughts and feelings about the book might not be clear. For example, I already read Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, however, my thoughts and feelings weren’t very clear when I first read it. When I read it again, this coming month (December) I am hoping my thoughts and feelings about the script will be more concise. Over time it is possible that feelings about a certain book will change, therefore it is good to re-read the book to see whether or not your feelings have truly changed. Another advantage to re-reading books is that you pick up on things that you may have missed the first time, and if there were things that you didn’t quite understand the first time, you may gain a better understanding of the things that you didn’t understand. There are quite a few books that I read this year that I had read at some point during my school career and wanted to re-read them for one reason or another. What do you think about re-reading books? Do you make time to do so? Why or why not? For me, I think it’s important to find a balance between re-reading books that you really loved and reading the more recent trendy titles.
