Today’s short post is all about how I rate books. For rating books, I use the Goodreads five star system. It’s a lot easier for me to use the Goodreads rating system because I use Goodreads to rate and review books. I don’t use half or quarter stars because Goodreads does not contain them. I also don’t round up or round down if something were to be a half or quarter star, to me it doesn’t make sense. As I am becoming more critical of what I read, I feel that more thought is being put into how I rate books. I also use to hate reading critically, because I was always told too, but now when I read I find myself reading critically because I want to and not because I have to.
The Goodreads system is as follows:
⭐️Did not like it
⭐️⭐️It was okay
⭐️⭐️⭐️Liked it
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Really like it
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️It was amazing
I basically use the same system. When I first started blogging, I used the half-star system, but it became so frustrating to round up or down when rating on Goodreads or Amazon. Now it’s only the rare book that comes along that I wish I had that half-star.
