#T5W Books out of My Comfort Zone

top-5-wednesday

Top 5 Wednesday was originally created by Lainey from Gingerreadslainey and is now hosted by Sam from Thoughts on Tomes.  There is a Goodreads group which lists the topics.

Finiding Paris by Joy Preble- This is contemporary, with a trigger warning for rape.  I’m just starting to read more contemporary, I’m used to reading fantasy and historical fiction.  I also have never read any books where a character is raped.

Bittersweet by Beverly Miranda-Whittemore- There are aspects of mystery and suspense in this book, which I’m not used to reading.

Life Unaware by Cole Gibson- This is contemporary but deals with bullying, which is something I also haven’t read too much of in books.

Scouts Honor by Dori Ann Dupré- This is told from so many different perspectives that I actually lost count of how many perspectives there are in this book.  Books from multiple perspectives, especially where the chapters alternate between characters is way out of my comfort zone.  I don’t tend to read them all that much, I find them really confusing and at times hard to follow.

Out of the Dust by Karen Hesse- This book is written in free verse in diary entries, which is a format that I’m not used to reading.  This is the first book that I have ever read that is not a poem written this way.
