Armchair BEA: Beyond the Books and Blog Day 3
I’m joining this a little late, as I just discovered this today.
Beyond the books: Beyond the traditional form of the novel, what are your favorite alternative forms (graphic novels, audiobooks, webcomics, etc)? Do you have any favorite works within these alternate forms? How do you think the changing format affects the reading experience?
Recently I just got into reading eBooks and bought myself a Nook. Having a Nook and reading books with it really changes how I read. I love being able to make notes about things that I want to remember and not ruin a physical book. I hate writing in books, because for me books aren’t meant to be written in. I’m not a fan of graphic novels, audiobooks or webcomics.
Beyond the Blog: Our secondary topic, beyond the blog could focus on the ways you engage in talking about books outside of your blog. Do you participate in book clubs, take classes, meticulously maintain your goodreads profile? Let the world know!
I don’t participate in book clubs or take classes. However, something that I take very seriously is maintaining my Goodreads profile. I love being able to connect with other readers and especially authors. I also feel that it’s important for others to be able to see what I’m reading. I’ve also participated in a few readathons and am planning on taking part in the Tome Topple Readathon created by Sam from Thoughts on Tomes in June.
I love reading books on my Nook. It changed the way I read books as well. It’s so much easier. I go between reading on my nook and a physical form.
It’s so hard to write in a book. I recently joined a project where we make annotations in a book before sending it to the next person and it was so hard to adjust to writing in a book. When does this readathon happen? I might be interested in joining 🙂
June 5th to the 19th. There’s a video on Sam’s YouTube channel with all the details.
Thanks!
