Blogging From A to Z April Challenge Wrap-Up

I really enjoyed doing this challenge, and it really was a challenge.  The most challenging thing about this was figuring out what to write for each letter.  Some letters were easier, while others required some more thought. Another challenge was commenting on other posts.  I tried to comment on posts that I could easily relate to.  I decided not to do a theme for this challenge, I thought it would be more fun to just do posts on somewhat random things.

My favorite part of the challenge was finding new blogs to follow.  It’s always fun finding new blogs where you love the content and can relate to most of it.  I found a lot of blogs using the pinned Facebook posts where bloggers commented the links to blogs for the corresponding letter.  I felt that this was a really good way to find other blogs.  My other favorite thing about the challenge was creating mini conversations when commenting on other blogs.

My only wish, is that more people commented on my posts along with liking them.  I really appreciated getting likes on my posts, however it would have been more helpful if people commented what they liked about my posts.  I’m definitely considering doing this challenge again next year, it was something fun and different.

  1. I feel your pain about the lack of comments–though I understand absolutely the time factor and suffered from it myself. I think commenting is a skill you have to practice quite a bit to get good at and it gets easier as we go. Hang in there! The pinned posts are a great idea!! Best of luck next year.

    • I’m still undecided about next year. I feel like I put a lot of time and effort into creating my posts, and to have people not comment made me question why I even signed up to do it.

      • Boy, do I identify with that. It’s deflating and depressing. But everything I read says that it takes years to get a sizeable following so don’t give up unless you find your heart just isn’t in it. Best of luck.

  2. So many great blogs with so many time to visit them all. At least the list will be accessible at the A to Z Blog for those who want to go through it in the year to come.

Thanks for joining us in April and look forward to seeing you again in 2017.

    • The pinned posts with links to posts from other bloggers really helped me find other wordpress users. It was easier for me to comment and follow fellow wordpress users.

  3. I think the main reason why I sometimes just Liked rather than Commented on people’s blog posts was purely a time issue. Even with scheduling some posts in advance, the challenge took a lot of time, and like everyone else, it had to fit into work, family, etc. Now that MY is here, I’m planning on going back over the blog list and see what gems I’ve missed. All the best for May, and beyond.

  4. Hello there…i missed coming across your blog but thanks to the sundays i had saved few links that i made sure i visited after the challenge is over..in the entire month of may. So hold on to some marathon likes and comments … and yeah it definitely was a serious challenge..specially visiting other blogs and commenting..it was the toughest part for me too.
Happy blogging and hope to read more of your posts.

  5. It was fun, and I also enjoyed receiving comments and finding more blogs to follow. I already have some ideas for next year’s challenge. Thanks for participating and for all your comments.
