I thought this would be a fun blog to write. Most of us have been there before, having the need to have anything and everything to make your hair look and feel better. Having upwards to 10 or more hair care products not including shampoo and conditioner, I know, I’ve been that person. I don’t think I ever had 10 hair products, but I used to use a lot of product all at once, maybe like five or six different products. I can’t even remember the exact products that I used, but I know that it was a lot. My product junkie days were when I was blow drying and flat ironing my naturally curly/wavy hair every other day, I learned the hard way, that is a big no no. I thought all the products I was putting in my hair were good for my hair and protecting it from the heat and making it healthy. No, those products were loaded with silicones, which I have learned just sit on the surface of my hair and make it look good, and are not good for curly/wavy hair. These days I’ve really cut down on the amount of hair products that I use. After I shampoo and condition, I use a leave in, frizz fighting spray, oil and occasionally a moisturizing sea salt spray. I don’t use mousse, gel, hairspray, serum, blow dry lotion or anything that claims to mend split ends. I keep things really simple, and use products that are good for my hair. Everything I use on my hair is free of sulfates, parabens, low in salt or salt free and no silicones.
These are the only products that I use in my hair after shampoo and conditioner. It may look like more than three, but two things are unopened. For leave in I use the recently discontinued Living Proof Targeted Repair Cream, Living Proof No Frizz Weightless Styling Spray and for oil I use either the Body Shop Olive Oil Dry Oil or the Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil Light. The two unopened products are the Body Shop Argan Oil Dry Oil and another sample of the Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil Light. These are the products that keep my hair healthy and happy.
