What’s up and some new favorites.

As I’m writing this blog entry, I’m listening to Beyonce and surprisingly I’m not reading a book. But I figured I’d give everyone a little update. Lately I’ve been reading a lot. Ever since I was little I loved to read, I still do. When I was younger, I would read all the time, and I’m starting to do that again. It feels amazing. I’ve also had the urge to just buy books, it is better than buying clothes. Reading has always been one of my favorite things to do, but recently I have found myself some new favorites. I’ll break them down into different categories.

Random:
Watching everything on my Dvr, then shutting off my tv and reading. I’ve really enjoyed the quiet time.

Websites:
Naturallycurly.com
I love the forums on this website, there’s a lot of amazing tips on how to care for curly/wavy hair. I’ve actually learned a lot from the forums.

Goodreads.com
This is kinda like Facebook, but it’s all about books. It’s really cool to see what others are reading, and I love the book challenge. If anyone is wondering, my goal for 2014 is 20 books. It’s very possible that I could surpass this.

Hair products:
Onesta hydrating shampoo and hydrating conditioner. I love how these make my hair look and feel, the best part is that there aren’t sulfates, silicones or parabens. Another thing I love about these two is that they are vegan, cruelty free, made completely made from botanicals, plant extracts, all natural and some of the ingredients are organic.

Living proof restore targeted repair cream: I use this as my leave in. My hair needs extra moisture and this stuff does the trick. For me, a little bit goes a long way.

Living proof restore treatment mask: I love this product, ever since I’ve started using it once a week I’ve noticed a lot less breakage.

Living proof restore regimen: this is a weekly deep conditioning treatment that has three kinds of keratin in it. A four week supply is 38 dollars, I can get away with using half a tube, as there is a lot of product packed into the little tube which is really nice.

Skincare:
My routine hasn’t changed. But I did find a new foundation that I love. It’s the new bare minerals liquid foundation. It looks really natural and it is all natural. Plus it has sunscreen in it.

Food:
Overnight oats. I’ve always loved oatmeal and then I found a link to a recipe for something called overnight oats on twitter. You take Quaker oats, put them in a bowl, mix them with Greek yogurt, almond milk, and put them in the refrigerator overnight and eat them the next morning. To sweeten them up, I like to add 100% pure maple syrup or honey.

Music:
Lately I’ve been listening to a lot of country. Everything else just sounds the same to me. I’m loving the new albums from Lucy Hale and Miranda Lambert.

Maybe my next blog will be about the books that I have read recently with mini reviews on each.
